There are Green Party representatives who have the values you would like to see in our leaders and perhaps it’s time we consider them for our local elections.

One such individual is running for the Pennsylvania House District 64 as a Green Party candidate. His name is Michael Bagdes-Canning, and I knew him long before he was trying to correct injustice by dedicating himself to politics. I knew him as a teacher for 29 years where he dedicated himself to helping disadvantaged youth to find a path to success. He would always go beyond the normal to reach his objectives as if the youths’ future lives depended on it.

As recognition of his intense efforts and for years of teaching, sharing and caring, he was recommended for Teacher of the Year honors.
