KC boys soccer runs the table

Myers' goal total reaches 58; Gremlins go 18-0

Spenser Myers scored three goals to bring his single-season school record total to 58 as the Karns City boys soccer team completed its first-ever undefeated regular season with a 7-0 win over Forest Area.

Jace Ebbitt added two goals and Noah Pollock and Marcus Lantz also scored for Karns City (18-0).

Slippery Rock 2, Hickory 1 (OT) — Chase Baxa scored the winning goal with 41 seconds remaining in the first overtime to give the Rockets the region title.

Garrett Daugherty put Slippery Rock (13-3, 7-1) up 1-0 in the first half, but Hickory tied it with 10 minutes to go before halftime.

Girls Soccer

Megan McCartney scored three goals and also had four assists to lead Karns City to an 8-0 win over Punxsutawney.

Kaylee Smith added two goals and Hunter Dittman, Collette Stahlman and Sydney Turner also scored for Karns City (16-0).

North Hills 1, Knoch 0 — Becca Stockert made six saves in this season-ending road loss for the Knights (6-9-3).

Girls Volleyball

Maria Alfano had nine kills and Emily Devlin added seven kills as Seneca Valley downed Butler 25-15, 21-25, 25-14, 25-18.

Bella Seman added four aces for the Raiders.

Erin Fullerton paced Butler with nine kills, Julia Gibson added seven kills, Emily Archer pitched in six kills and 12 digs and Caitlin Martin added 13 digs and six kills for the Golden Tornado, who were knocked out of playoff contention when Pine-Richland swept Shaler 3-0.

Hampton 3, Knoch 1 — Sarah Armahizer had 15 kills, but the Knights dropped their first section match of the season, 18-25, 25-20, 15-25, 20-25.

Abby Pospisil had nine kills for Knoch (13-2, 11-1), which can still win the section title outright if Hampton (10-1 in the section) falls to Mars Thursday.

Union 3, Moniteau 1 — Frankee Remmick had 11 kills, five aces and 10 digs as the Damsels downed the Warriors 25-11, 27-25, 22-25, 26-24.

Hannah Atzeni added 21 assists for Union.

No individual statistics were available for Moniteau.

A-C Valley 3, Redbank Valley 1 — Olivia Boocks had 19 kills and 18 digs and Josey Terwilliger added 16 kills and 11 digs in the Falcons' 25-22, 15-25, 25-18, 25-13 win.

Sydney Rankin added 27 assists and 17 digs, Emily Wetzel 19 assists and 13 digs and Kylee Eaton 11 kills for A-C Valley (13-1).

Cross Country

Nick Shea won the boys race with a time of 19 minutes, 40 seconds and Harley Pflugh captured the girls race in 22:41 as Slippery Rock swept Greenville's boys (22-39) and girls (26-30).
