MCCANDLESS TWP — Job seekers will get a chance to talk to possible employers and learn more about the job market in Western Pennsylvania next week.

The Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber will hold its annual career fair from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at The Chadwick, 10545 Perry Highway.

The career fair is free.

It will feature more than 70 businesses from around the region that are hiring.

The chamber encourages people of any age or any level of education to come to the fair to learn about job opportunities, meet face-to-face with recruiters and potentially schedule job interviews.

“We will have a little of everything. There will be business professional, trades and technical positions available there,” said Patty Bittle, chamber business and key accounts executive.

It is recommended that attendees dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume to share with job recruiters.

The fair could be valuable not only to people who are unemployed, but also those who have jobs, but are looking for other opportunities.

“Even if you are just underemployed and you are looking to move to the next step in your career, there will be both entry level and higher level,” Bittle said.

The U.S. Postal Service is seeking applicants for a number of positions right now. Other businesses that will be represented include FedEx, which just opened a new distribution center in Jackson Township, Giant Eagle and Baierl Chevrolet.

After the event there will be an after-hours reception starting at 6:30 p.m. at Fresco's, 1 Wexford Square.
