Butler girls soccer unit joins WPIAL playoffs

Tornado end 13-year drought

Hannah Hays scored a pair of goals as Butler's girls soccer team clinched a playoff berth for the first time in 13 years with a 4-0 section win over North Hills Wednesday night.

Alexis Leech and Liz Simms also scored for the Tornado.

Anna Voelker preserved the shutout in goal for Butler (9-4, 5-3) with 10 saves.

Knoch 9, McKeesport 0 — Lindsie Galbreath scored three goals and added two assists and teammate Lauren Betts contributed two goals and a pair of assists as Knoch crushed the visiting Tigers.

Allie Gore scored twice, Shauna Thomas scored once and had one assist and Aubrie Faust had a goal for the Knights (5-6-3, 3-5-1).

Girls Volleyball

Kerrie Fitzpatrick totaled 16 service points and Alley Kerkan 14 in Knoch's 25-12, 25-11, 25-9 sweep of Lincoln Park on Wednesday.

Abby Pospisil added nine kills for the Knights (11-0, 9-0).

Boys Golf

Adam Bushee and Mark McNulty both managed a 38 to lead Seneca Valley to a 198-206 victory over Mars at Rittswood Golf Course.

Adam Sweet paced the Planets with a 37, followed by Cody Killian's 38.
