Man charged with threatening wife

JACKSON TWP — A township man was arrested Tuesday morning and placed in Butler County Prison after allegedly threatening to shoot his wife.

Jason D. Wolfson, 38, is facing terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment charges, all misdemeanors, as a result of the incident.

According to the criminal complaint filed by township police, officers were dispatched to his house on Mill Stream Lane at 11:40 p.m. Monday.

Wolfson’s wife had barricaded herself in the laundry room and called 911 to report that he was intoxicated, had a handgun and had threatened to shoot her.

He was arrested without incident and provided a signed written statement to police stating that he was not serious about his threat and that the gun was not loaded. Police removed three guns from the house.

Their two children were in the house, but sleeping, during the alleged threat, according to the complaint.

He is in the prison on $10,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in district court Tuesday.
