A hearing on the sale of the former Middlesex Elementary School, which is in the Mars School District, will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 15 at the Butler County courthouse.

Judge Michael Yeager will preside over the hearing in courtroom 3.

The school board members in June approved a bid of $450,000 from S.A. Arias Holdings for an insurance call center in the large building.

That will be the successful bid unless a higher reliable bid is offered at the Nov. 15 hearing.

The district’s special education and pupil services departments are housed at the former elementary school.

Those departments will move to the administration offices adjacent to the primary center on Route 228 once a renovation project there is done.

The elementary school was closed to students in June 2004 in a relocation of elementary grades.

If no other bidders appear at the hearing, Yeager could approve the bid from S.A. Arias Holdings.
