Karns City's Megan McCartney reached the 100-career goal milestone with a pair of scores in the Gremlins' 4-0 girls soccer win over visiting Redbank Valley on Monday.

Collette Stahlman and Hannah Knoll also scored for KC (9-0).

McCartney added an assist in the victory.

Knoch 3, Indiana 1 — Lindsie Galbreath netted a pair of goals and Maddie Holben the other as the Knights (4-4-2, 2-3-1) earned this road win.

Maddie Abriatis, Lauren Betts and Lindsey Fanton all registered assists.

Becca Stockert had four saves in net.

Freeport 4, Deer Lakes 0 — Kaylee Comperatore scored two goals in this victory at Highmark Stadium.

Carli Giori and Sarah Lipniskis each added one score.

Rylie Toy, Olivia Gaspersic, Cameron Lindsay and Sidney Shemanski each had an assist for the Yellowjackets (7-2, 6-0).

Girls Volleyball

Josey Terwilliger dropped 15 kills and teammate Olivia Boocks had nine service points and eight kills in A-C Valley's 25-14, 25-19, 25-15 sweep of visiting Slippery Rock.

The Falcons (6-1) also received 15 service points and 22 assists out of Emily Wetzel, 12 assists from Sydney Rankin and three aces and seven kills courtesy of Kylee Eaton.

Knoch 3, Indiana 0 — Bethany Nulph paced this non-section win with nine kills. Abby Pospisil and Alley Kerkan contributed 14 and 11 service points, respectively for the undefeated Knights (8-0).

Knoch downed the Indians by scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-14.

Boys Golf

Four Butler County-area golfers advanced from the District 9 individual qualifier, held at Bavarian Hills Golf Course in St. Marys.

They included Ethan Nevel (A-C Valley/Union, 85), Weston Kimmey (Moniteau, 85), Kolby Montgomery (A-C Valley/Union, 87) and Hunter Gifford (Karns City, 88).

Ridgway's Ben Ames topped the field with an 80.

Knoch 370, Slippery Rock 387 — The Knights defeated the Rockets in an 18-hole match at Oakview Golf Club.

Chase Baxa scored twice while Ryan Davey, James Gallagher and Nick Stutz each scored one goal in Slippery Rock's 5-2 victory against Wilmington.

The Rockets improved to 7-2.
