Butler Twp PoliceMonday — Police charged Julian L. Molina, 20, and Robert M. Burdine, 19, both of Butler stemming from an alleged shoplifting scheme with an inside connection.The charges were filed after representatives at the Target store at Butler Commons uncovered the alleged employee theft that had been going on for several weeks.According to a police report, Molina would place unpaid merchandise into a shopping bag for Burdine, who in turn would leave the store with the items. In all, police said, the pair stole $1,569.91 in store property.Both suspects are charged with felony counts of retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft, and a misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property.5:06 p.m. Saturday — Joshua K. Glenn, 24, of Chicora landed in trouble with the law after suffering a suspected drug overdose on a municipal bus in front of the Butler Commons’ Walmart.Police said a Butler Ambulance Service crew was called after Glenn was found unresponsive on the Butler Transit Authority bus. Medics administered the opioid antidote Narcan, which revived the suspect. But once conscious, police said, he became combative.Glenn was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, where he allegedly continued to act up. He is charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.8:04 p.m. Friday — Anthony M. Kovocovsky, 53, of Butler was charged with public intoxication in connection with a pair of separate calls.Police said they found Kovocovsky after being called about 9 p.m. Friday for a report of an intoxicated man at the Sheetz convenience store. The suspect earlier had been reported drunk on Lawrence Avenue.He is charged with public drunkenness.11:42 a.m. Friday — Christine R. Banfield, 28, of Valencia was caught with suspected drug contraband after she suffered an apparent heroin overdose at the Sheetz store parking lot on Route 8 south.Police said they found an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin in Banfield’s vehicle while investigating the call. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jackson Twp Police11:40 p.m. Monday — Jason D. Wolfson, 38, was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill his 37-year-old wife and himself with a handgun during a domestic dispute at their home at Dutch Creek Estates on Mill Stream Lane.Wolfson’s wife, who was not seriously injured, called authorities during the alleged incident. Police suspect the defendant had been drinking.He was placed in Butler County Prison to await arraignment on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.3:52 p.m. Monday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle wreck on the 33 block of Lindsay Road. The crash happened in a work project zone where traffic was reduced to a single lane.Police said a northbound car driven by Linnea M. Vose, 21, of Butler struck other cars that were stopped in traffic in the southbound lane. Vose’s car sustained heavy front-end damage and the other vehicles had minor to moderate damage.The other drivers were identified as Claudia A. Presser, 61, of Pittsburgh and Richard L. Davis Jr., 30, of Parkersburg, W.Va.

State Police, MercerA 31-year-old Grove City man is accused of leaving Mercer County Jail on work-release and failing to return. Police did not identify the inmate, who faces pending escape charges.
