Myers snaps record

KC midfielder nets 125th goal in 5-2 triumph

Karns City senior midfielder Spenser Myers broke the Gremlins' boys soccer record for career goals in Saturday's 5-2 win over Hickory.

Myers scored three times, giving him 125 goals in his varsity career. The previous record was 123 goals by Ryan Parker.

Noah Pollock added two goals in the victory and Jake Weckerly earned another win in net for KC (8-0).

Freeport 5, Burrell 0 — Bryce Hanby scored twice for the Yellowjackets (8-0, 7-0).

Kevin Lynch, Andrew Nigra and Sean Dunn also found the net while Adam Kvarta, Alec Parker, Stevie Teorsky, Nigra and Lynch all tallied assists.

Austin Uric made four saves in the win.

Slippery Rock 5, Franklin 0 — Chase Baxa paced the Rockets (6-2, 3-0) with three goals.

Ryan Davey and Cabot Fowler also scored and goalkeeper Colin Griffith earned the shutout.

Cameron Lindsay and Olivia Gaspersic both scored a goal in Freeport's 2-0 victory against Apollo-Ridge.

Lexi Dell and Sidney Shemanski both had an assist for the Yellowjackets (5-4).

Karns City 8, Slippery Rock 0 — Led by Haley Scherer's hat trick, the Gremlins (7-0) remained perfect with this home win.

Megan McCartney added a pair of scores while Chelsey Dodds, Breanna Tomsey and Mackenna Lavella all added one goal.
