‘Golden Footballs’ at Butler FridayBUTLER TWP — Two NFL “Golden Footballs,” given to the high school alma maters of every player on the active roster of a Super Bowl team, will be presented to Butler prior to Friday night’s season opener against Penn Hills.Terry Hanratty will be on hand to accept one of the footballs while Eileen Saul, widow of Rich Saul, will accept the other. Hanratty and Saul were on Super Bowl rosters for the Steelers and Los Angeles Rams, respectively.The footballs will be presented on the field at Art Bernardi Stadium at 7:15 p.m.

7-time gold medalist Caslavska dead at 74PRAGUE — Vera Caslavska, a seven-time Olympic gymnastics gold medalist who stood up against the 1968 Soviet-led invasion of Czechoslovakia, has died. She was 74.The Czech Olympic Committee said today that Caslavska died in Prague late Tuesday. Caslavska had cancer of the pancreas and underwent surgery last year, the committee previously said. She later had chemotherapy treatment.
