Lavon “Bunny” (Wells) Smith

Lavon “Bunny” (Wells) Smith, 80, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Monday at the Paramount Senior Living in Seven Fields.

Born Dec. 23, 1935, in Carlisle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. Wells and Pearl (Trostle) Wells.

A Catholic, Lavon was a member of St. Kilian Parish. She was an excellent cook and volunteered her skills in the kitchen at St. Ferdinand Parish for many years. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 61 years, Jack Smith, who she married Feb. 19, 1955; her three children, Sandra Zahn and her husband, Lloyd, of New Brighton, John Smith and his wife, Leslie, of New Brighton and Thomas Smith of Cranberry Township; three granddaughters, Erin Lewis and her husband, Dan, Samantha Smith and Kara Smith; one great-granddaughter, Riley Lewis; and one brother-in-law, Timothy Smith.

In addition to her parents, Lavon was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

SMITH — Friends of Lavon Smith, who died Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A blessing service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles S. Bober as celebrant.She will be laid to rest at the Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Lavon's honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Lavon's family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
