Brother pulls knife in fight, police say

CRANBERRY TWP — A man was arrested after he pulled a knife on his brother this morning during a domestic dispute at the family’s home on Robinhood Drive, police said. No one was injured.

Cranberry Township police went to the house about 7:15 a.m. after a 911 call reported a man being held there at knife-point.

The altercation, it turned out, was a case of brotherly love gone bad, authorities said. The brothers, both in their 30s, apparently got into an argument that led to a tussle.

“When one brother started to lose, he got a knife,” said police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino.

The suspect, who police did not identify, at one point held the kitchen knife to his brother’s neck.

Police arrested the man, who was taken to the station. A Cranberry Ambulance crew was later called to assist when the suspect suffered a “panic attack,” Mascellino said.

Police as of 9 a.m. were still preparing to charge the suspect with simple assault and possible other charges.
