The historic covered bridge over Slippery Rock Creek in McConnells Mill State Park in Lawrence County will be closed beginning Monday as renovation work on the structure begins. It is expected to be closed for 60 days, according to the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. A detour will be posted, and limited parking at the Grist mill will be provided to vehicles with disability placards. General parking will be at the Kildoo Picnic area, and the grist mill will remain open throughout the renovation.
