Butler Police11:52 p.m. Wednesday — Brandon A. Norris, 24, of Penn Township was arrested on drunken driving and other charges stemming from a hit-and-run wreck on Zeigler Avenue.Police said Norris was more than double the legal limit for alcohol when his car struck another vehicle parked along the road. He is accused of walking away from his car. Officers a short time later found him on Short Street near Lincoln Avenue.Norris, who reeked of alcohol, was subsequently taken for a breath test. The test, according to court documents, showed his blood-level was 0.194 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to driving under the influence and hit-and-run Norris is charged with driving with a suspended license.8:08 p.m. Wednesday — Donald R. Thompson, 58, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Caitland Ringler, during a domestic dispute at his home in the 300 block of North Bluff Street.Ringler told police that she locked herself in a bedroom at the home to get away from Thompson. But he climbed onto the roof and went into the room through the window, breaking a mirror in the process, court documents said.The woman said when she pushed Thompson away from her, he picked up a piece of the broken mirror and swung it at her. She suffered a minor cut on the arm.Thompson was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and released on his own recognizance.Wednesday — Police charged Albert E. Maire, 55, of Butler with threatening another man with a knife in the elevator at the Terrace Apartments on South Cliff Street. No one was injured in the altercation that happened about 7:40 p.m. Aug. 13.The alleged victim, Kevin Albert, told police that he and three friends got onto the elevator where Maire pulled out a 3-inch bladed knife, according to court documents.The suspect is accused of pointing the knife in Albert's face. Maire is charged with terroristic threats.

Butler Twp Police9:45 a.m. Aug. 16 — A girl was uninjured when a vehicle struck her after she tried to run across a traffic way in the Walmart parking lot at Butler Commons. The girl, who police did not identify, was running to the store to get out of the rain and did not check for vehicles.A sport utility vehicle driven by Nancy Young, 59, of Chicora struck the girl. A police report noted Young had “little visibility due to the heavy rain.” The child refused medical treatment after the accident.

Grove City PoliceSaturday — An unknown vandal spray painted the rear door of a vehicle at Hovis Auto on North Broad Street. The vandalism happened between 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925Saturday — A car driven by Brianna L. Isles, 31, of Grove City struck a metal fence at the bridge over Wolf Creek while making a left turn from Liberty Street onto East Main Street. Police cited her for careless driving.Thursday — A .38-caliber revolver was reported stolen from a self-storage unit at the Grove City Masonic Lodge on West Main Street. The handgun was taken between May and Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

State Police, ButlerSunday — An unknown burglar stole unspecified items valued at $450 from a 76-year-old man's home on Route 308 in Cherry Township. The break-in happened between 10 a.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Sunday.Friday — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for a convicted sex offender who left his home in Slippery Rock without notifying authorities. David W. Eberhardt, 25, is charged with failing to comply with requirements of being a sexual offender.Troopers on Tuesday went to Eberhardt's last known address at 223 Franklin St., to speak to him about an incident, but found he had not been seen at the home for several months, according to court documents.Later, they also learned that he had left his last known job in December.Under the state's version of Megan's Law, sex offenders must notify state police whenever they move or leave their employment.

State Police, KittanningThursday — No one was injured in a four-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Route 28 south in East Deer Township, Allegheny County.The wreck happened when a car driven by Mache L. Young, 27, of Natrona Heights struck the back of a vehicle driven by Scott T. Arnold, 49, of Freeport. The collision then involved vehicles driven by Kevin B. Sulia, 30, of Ford City and Michael L. Fry, 32, of Brackenridge.Police cited Young for following too closely to another vehicle.7:11 p.m. Wednesday — A 27-year-old Freeport woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 south at Exit 11 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.
