Pool party marks Rio’s swim eventsCRANBERRY TWP — The Seneca Valley Swim Club will host a free, public pool party at Cranberry Waterpark, 450 N. Boundary Park Drive, from 9 to 11 p.m. Aug. 11.The event will celebrate the USA Swim Team’s participation in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The Aug. 11 swimming events will stream live on the big screen at the pool starting at 9 p.m. Food will be available at the concession stand.

Brick patio to honor area vets,/b>FREEPORT — A brick patio under development in Freeport’s Riverside Park will honor past, present and future veterans of the U.S. armed forces.Bricks engraved with veterans’ names and military service information will surround the park’s existing veterans monuments and reflect the strong patriotic spirit of Freeport and the surrounding communities.Anyone can purchase a brick to honor any veteran who served their country in war and peace.
