Thomas Straessley

Thomas James Straessley, 66, of Cranberry Township passed away Saturday.

Born Aug. 3, 1949, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Clarence and Doris (Wise) Straessley.

A Catholic, Tom proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a 1967 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, where he played football for the school team. Tom was an operating engineer for Local 66 and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Annette (Barnett) Straessley, who he married June 14, 1980; his children, Gabriel Straessley of Pittsburgh, Angela Straessley of Cranberry Township and Mathew Straessley of Cranberry Township; two grandchildren, Louie and Gabriel Jr.; and one sister, Claudia “Sue” Schmidhamer and her husband, Frank, of Clark, Pa.

STRAESSLEY — Friends of Thomas James Straessley, who died Saturday, July 23, 2016, will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a service to follow at 7 p.m. at the Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Rosalyn Kummer officiating.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's honor to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 707 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Tom's family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
