Police were called to the store for a man acting strangely and found Gibson. He told officers that he was “weaning himself off methadone over the past several days and is suffering from withdrawal,” according to court documents.

The suspect was taken to the police station after officers were unable to verify the name he initially provided. At the station he gave police another phony name.

Police eventually identified Gibson, who they learned was wanted on a bench warrant. He was arraigned on a charge of false identification to law enforcement authorities and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.
