Buffalo man caught twice in 3 hours

Faces suspended license charges

BUFFALO TWP — A township man was arrested after being caught driving with a suspended license twice in a three-hour period.

But driving under suspension is nothing new for 47-year-old Daniel P. Adamik. He has nine prior convictions for the same traffic violation, Butler County Court records showed.

Buffalo Township police filed all of those previous cases, as well as the two recent ones earlier this month.

Officer Scott Hess was on patrol in the 500 block of Sarver Road about 10:45 p.m. July 2 when he spotted Adamik’s Jeep Patriot turn into the parking lot near the Buffalo Elementary School, according to court documents.

The entrance of the lot, which is used as the bus staging area at Freeport School District, is posted with a “No Trespassing” sign.

Hess stopped the Jeep and advised him he would be facing charges in the mail. The officer had the vehicle towed and Adamik was released.

But at 1:45 a.m. July 3, Hess again noticed Adamik, this time driving a GMC pickup truck in the 400 block of Bear Creek Road.

The officer tried to make a traffic stop, however, the defendant kept driving, police said. He eventually turned onto Sarver Road in his alleged attempted getaway before traveling back onto Bear Creek Road.

Police stopped him a short time later in front of the driveway of his parents’ house. Hess had to pull him out of the vehicle

When the suspect refused to put his hands behind his back and continued to struggle with the officer, Hess drew his Taser and threatened to use it.

The defendant quit acting up and complied with police. He was taken to station. When police were unable to find anyone home at the suspect’s parents’ house, they had the pickup towed.

Adamik in the first stop is charged with defiant trespass, driving with a suspended license and disorderly conduct,

In the second stop, he is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.

Adamik’s record showed that he has pleaded guilty nine times to driving with a suspended license since 2009. Two of those pleas were in connection with traffic stops March 23 and June 24.
