Workers from utility company PA American Water are investigating the cause of a water line break on Birch Street which occurred this morning.

The break, which was still active as of press time, sent water streaming onto West Jefferson Street. It was unclear whether any homes or businesses were without water because of the incident. As of press time, a company spokesman said there was no information on the break's cause or how long it would take to repair it.

City officials said they did not have any information on the break.
