Thursday — Samantha B. Bish, 24, of Center Township was charged with showing up at a court hearing with drug contraband.

Bish at 10 a.m. July 15 appeared at Butler County Judge Timothy McCune’s courtroom in the government center for a probation violation hearing. McCune ordered her detained and when a deputy searched her, Bish was found with a smoking pipe that had suspected drug residue on it, according to court documents.

Bish is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Franklin[/naviga:h3]

4:04 p.m. Saturday — Two teenagers were hurt when the all-terrain vehicles they were driving collided head-on in Sandycreek Township. Both Franklin area youths — a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy — were taken to UPMC Northwest hospital in Seneca for suspected minor injuries.

The wreck happened on Brown Siding Road just south of Congress Hill Road where the teens were riding together. The children, according to a police report, “attempted an avoidance maneuver in the middle of the road” but crashed into one another.

Both teens were thrown from their four-wheel ATVs after the collision. Both were wearing helmets.

The girl was thrown about 60 feet and landed on the side of the road. The boy was thrown about 40 feet and ended up lying in a ditch off the road.

Police said both teens, who they did not identify, face traffic violations including illegally riding ATVs on the road.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

2:20 p.m. Saturday — Marianne E. Yassem, 53, of Kittanning was arrested after she was caught allegedly changing the price tag on a bicycle at the Hilltop Plaza Walmart in East Franklin Township. Police said Yassem was cited for retail theft.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

3 p.m. Saturday — A 54-year-old Stoneboro man allegedly attacked a woman and girl at a campground in Perry Township, Mercer County. Police did not immediately identify the suspect, who is accused of placing the alleged victims — the 48-year-old woman and 10-year-old girl, both of Edinboro — in headlocks.

The man also forced the woman to the ground and held her in a leg grip. She and the girl were eventually able to get away.

[naviga:h3]State Police, New Castle[/naviga:h3]

5:14 p.m. Sunday — An unidentified vehicle struck the side mirror of a tractor-trailer and did not stop after the crash on Interstate 79 in Plain Grove Township. Police did not identify the driver of the rig.

Sunday — Police reported they are investigating a burglary at a home in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County where guns, money and household items were stolen. The break-in happened July 13 at the house on Route 422 in the Rose Point area.

The value of the stolen property was estimated at $4,846. A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.
