Car crashes at "notorious curve"

A Chevrolet Impala traveling on Glen Eden Road struck a tree Friday afternoon.

The driver was transported to Allegheny Hospital via ambulance.

Investigators are trying to find out the cause of the crash.

The driver was unable to tell rescue workers how the crash occurred.

The tree is located by a sharp curve in the road.

One local resident said the curve is "notorious" for people being run off the road by other people taking the curve too hard and going over the center line.

Cranberry Township volunteer firefighters, police and EMS are at the scene. One lane of traffic is closed.
