Butler Police1:13 p.m. Tuesday — Robby Lee Dunbar Jr., 25, allegedly stole a wallet belonging to his mother that was in a car at the family home in the 300 block of Third Street. Owner Laurie Cahall said the wallet had $104.Cahall told police that she learned what happened following the theft, and found the discarded wallet, minus the money, in bushes beside her house, court documents said.Just before 2:30 p.m. Dunbar appeared at the police station, saying he was there to turn himself in. He admitted he took the money from the wallet “to buy drugs,” documents said.He also acknowledged, according to a police affidavit, “that he needs help with his addiction and wanted to do the right thing by turning himself in.”Dunbar is charged with theft from a vehicle.Tuesday — Virginia F. Eisler, 54, of Prospect was charged with allegedly shoplifting $747 worth of merchandise July 6 at the Pullman Square Kmart store.Police said Eisler was caught trying to take 18 pieces of jewelry, nine cosmetics items and four clothing items. She is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.

Grove City Police6:49 a.m. Tuesday — Robert F. Cunningham, 53, of Harrisville was arrested on several warrants following a traffic stop at North Broad Street and Cranberry Road. Police said Cunningham had several traffic warrants for failure to pay or respond to citations in Allegheny County.He was arrested and later released after contact was made with the Allegheny County district judge officials.

State Park RangersTuesday — A Butler County man and woman were charged with placing a pair of children in danger when they went swimming last month in a closed area on Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park in Worth Township.Both suspects — Stephen Lee Cox, 37, of Lyndora and Melissa M. Riding, 29, of Fenelton — are each charged with child endangerment, a misdemeanor, and several summary offenses.Authorities said they caught the defendants swimming in a restricted area at the lake’s Old 422 Fishing Pier about 12:20 a.m. June 15. Cox was swimming with his 10-year-old daughter and Riding was swimming with her 5-year-old son, according to court documents.Riding also was allegedly intoxicated.Park manager Dustin Drew did not identify the defendants’ relationship or answer any questions about the case. Neither suspect could be reached for comment.Documents noted that the girl lives in Fresno, Calif.A ranger said Cox, Riding and the two children were about 50 yards from shore when he ordered them back.Both children and Riding returned, but Cox fled.He is accused of “abandoning his daughter” at the park and leaving behind his possessions on the fishing pier.Among the items, authorities said, were two full cans and three empty cans of beer. Alcohol is prohibited in state parks.The ranger suspected Riding was impaired. She admitted she drank a can of Four Loko, an energy drink that is 12 percent alcohol, but denied drinking it in the park.Along with the beer cans on the pier, the ranger also found an empty can of Four Loko.Along with child endangerment, both suspects are charged with drinking or possessing alcohol at the park, swimming in a restricted area and scattering rubbish. Cox also is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer

State Police, Clarion1:30 a.m. July 2 — A 31-year-old Templeton man allegedly assaulted two other men at the Squirrel’s Nest bar in Madison Township. Police did not identify the suspect, who left following the altercation.The alleged victims — Jamie Pyle, 45, and Patrick Double, 46, both of Chicora — suffered minor injuries.Police said the suspected case of simple assault remains under investigation.
