Ruman 90th birthday

Mary Ruman

Mary Ruman of Sarver will celebrate her 90th birthday with a family dinner at the J-Barn Country Inn in Sarver.

The former Mary Gavula was born July 21, 1926, in Trauger. She married the late Frank J. “Romie” Ruman May 8, 1948, at St. Mathias Roman Catholic Church in Natrona.

She has three children, Mary Ann (George) Miller of Butler, Cynthia Ruman of Saxonburg and the late Frank Ruman Jr.

She also has two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ruman held secretarial positions at Keystone Dairy in Parnassus, the Internal Revenue Service in Detroit, Alcoa Inc. in New Kensington and the Saxonburg Library in Saxonburg. She also worked in the dietary department of Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.

She is a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Parish in Natrona Heights.

Mrs. Ruman was volunteer coordinator for the handicapped. She organized, coordinated and managed more than 200 bus tours for mentally and physically challenged citizens in this area between 1978 and 2001.
