Joan Pollack of Butler celebrated her 85th birthday with an open house at her daughter’s home in Butler.

The former Joan Shepard was born June 25, 1931, in Butler. She married the late Joseph Pollack in January 1978 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

She has one daughter, Cathy Fuchs of Butler.

She also has one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Pollack is retired. She worked at Nationwide Insurance in Butler and Hale Groves in Vero Beach, Fla.

She is a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church where she is a member of the choir.
