The Internal Revenue Service is looking for the public's help finding a former resident and business owner of Cranberry Township who is wanted for multiple counts of tax evasion.

Valeriy Vahil, the owner of contract labor company Absolut Service Company, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on 17 counts of tax evasion on Oct. 14, 2014, according to United States Attorney David J. Hickton.

The document, unsealed on June 24, 2016, named Vahil as having failed to collect and pay quarterly federal income tax and Social Security taxes for employees from April 2009 to October 2012.

Vahil also filed a false quarterly tax return.

The investigation was conducted by the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division and assisted by the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Labor-Office of Attorney General, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 81 years in prison, a fine of $4,250,000 or both. Assistant United States Attorney Mary McKeen Houghton is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
