Developer plans new warehouse

CRANBERRY TWP — A developer is proposing an 81,000 square-foot warehouse and distribution center for Marshall Road.

The plans were approved Monday night by the township planning commission.

The building will be on 5.35 acres on Marshall Road near the intersection of Rowan Road and next to the district court building.

The developer, Sterling Properties, plans to combine four properties into one.

There are two houses and several barns on the land. The houses would be torn down, while one barn would be relocated to a different part of the property, said Ron Henshaw, township director of planning and development services.

If built, the building would be leased to one or more businesses, which the developer has not specified.

The types of companies that would likely use the building would not generate a lot of traffic. They would use mainly box trucks, not tractor trailers, developer David Kowalski said.

The township supervisors will consider approval of the warehouse plans at their meeting in August.
