Minick, Center defeat Meridian

No fastball? No problem.

Unable to throw any fastballs because of a shoulder issue, Shane Minick pitched a complete game and got the win Tuesday as Center Township defeated Meridian, 7-5, in Legion baseball play.

Minick threw only off-speed pitches for seven innings. He limited Meridian to six hits.

Caleb Baxter paced Center Township with a triple, single and two runs scored. Jason Gray singled and scored three runs while Dane Milich had a double and a run scored.

Ryan Lynn doubled and singled for Meridian. Nick Malis came on in relief and struck out seven of the nine batters he faced in a losing cause.

Kiski 7, East Butler 5 — Noah Hanson homered and delivered the game-winning single for Kiski (8-3) in this eight-inning victory at Speed-O Field.

Mike Zambodi came up with a game-tying double in the top of the seventh inning. Ryan Grady hit a three-run homer and singled for East Butler.
