Missing man's body found along Route 422

SUMMIT TWP — The body of a Kittanning-area man missing since Saturday evening and his wrecked motorcycle were found this afternoon along Route 422.

Trooper Jessica Clouse said the man, who is not yet being identified, appears to have been there “multiple days.”

Clouse said the man's girlfriend reported that it wasn't unusual for the man to go a few days without talking to friends or family, yet still she decided to walk up and down Route 422 to look for him.

The girlfriend found the body, which was about 70 feet north of the Route 422 intersection with Carbon Center Road.

The bike, a Harley Davidson, was another 15 feet farther into heavy brush.

“It was off an embankment into the brush and would have been very hard to see from the road,” Clouse said.

The incident is under investigation, but Clouse said it is believed the bike was traveling west and was upright when it left the road.
