Butler Police5:30 a.m. Wednesday — Jeremy Lee Jones, 27, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Whitney Dunlap, during a domestic dispute at their apartment in the 300 block of West Cunningham StreetDunlap told police that Jones pushed her to the floor, choked her and struck her in the face. She suffered minor injuries including red marks on her throat and swelling to the left side of her face.Jones was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.2:51 p.m. June 16 — A cargo van driven by Monte C. Miller, 56, of Pittsburgh collided with a pickup truck at East Cunningham and Cedar streets. Police cited Miller for careless driving. Lawrence G. Hall, 72, of Chicora was driving the truck.1:16 p.m. June 14 — Teri L. Mulneix, 37, of Butler suffered minor injuries when a sport utility vehicle struck her at West New Castle and North Chestnut streets. Police cited the driver, Karen S. Hartley, 69, of Butler, for a stop sign violation.

Butler Twp Police5:44 p.m. Tuesday — Police arrested a homeless man following a vehicle chase that started in Butler Township and ended in Center Township.The suspect, Justin J. Patterson, 27, formerly of Kentucky, faces a list of charges. He is in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Police said they were called to the Butler Crossing shopping plaza parking lot to check on a man screaming in his car. When police got there, the suspect drove off. He committed a number of traffic offenses while refusing to pull over. The pursuit ended without incident or injury at the Clearview Mall.Patterson was later arraigned on a felony charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police. He also is charged with driving an uninsured vehicle, disobeying traffic control devices, following too closely to another vehicle, a stop sign violation, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, making an illegal turn, speeding, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and reckless driving.2:08 p.m. Tuesday — Robert Becker, 49, of Butler was cited for public drunkenness after a disturbance at the Butler Memorial Hospital emergency room. He apparently got mad over having his car keys taken away.1:01 p.m. Tuesday — Holly A. Fedokovitz, 47, of Lyndora was caught allegedly shoplifting five items worth a combined $89.90 at the Butler Commons Walmart.A day earlier, according to a police report, she is suspected of shoplifting 23 items totaling $83.54 from the same store.Fedokovitz is charged with two counts of retail theft.

Butler County DetectivesWednesday — Jesse J. Markovitz, 36, was charged with having hundreds of empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and other drug contraband at his house in the 200 block of East Patterson Avenue during a home check June 17 by Butler County adult probation officers.Also found at the home, were used syringes and a drug cooking spoon. Markovitz is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.He was not home when probation officers made the compliance inspection. Butler police later stopped him driving a car. He was taken to the Butler County Prison.Meanwhile, police on Wednesday filed their own charges against Amy M. Schiebel, 37, of Butler, a passenger in Markovitz's car. Police said a search of her purse turned up suspected marijuana, three empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and a crack pipe.Schiebel is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

State Police, Butler6:37 p.m. Wednesday — A child playing with novelty fireworks started a minor fire at a home on Quetot Lane in Donegal Township. A deputy fire marshal determined the fire was accidental.Damage to the home, owned by Charlene Quetot, is estimate at $250. No one was injured.Monday — A Mercer County woman was arrested on a felony theft charge for failing to return a sport utility vehicle that she drove off in last month from a car rental business in Penn Township.The suspect, Donna M. Ackerson, 43, of Marion Center, is accused of using a 44-year-old Winfield Township man's name to rent a 2015 Hyundai Tucson from Enterprise on Route 8.The man told police that he did not give Ackerson his permission to use his name on the rental agreement. He notified authorities May 27 after learning the defendant had rented the car, valued at $18,000, and had not returned it.Ackerson was arraigned on charges of theft and authorized use of a vehicle, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Saturday — An identity thief made an online transaction using the debit card information belonging to a 70-year-old Connoquenessing Township woman.June 16 — Police obtained a pair of arrest warrants for Malique C. Robinson, 19, of Jefferson Township in connection with the theft of three handguns between Nov. 27 and Dec. 2.Robinson is suspected of stealing a 9 mm pistol and two magazine clips from a home on Becker Road in Winfield. The stolen property is valued at $350.In a separate case, the teen is accused of stealing two pistols — a .45-caliber and a .380-caliber — belonging to a man who lives on Great Belt Road in Jefferson Township. Those guns are valued at a combined $739.Robinson is charged with two felony counts each of theft and receiving stolen property.

State Police, Kittanning6:60 p.m. Monday — A 27-year-old McKean County man was caught with suspected drug contraband during a traffic stop in North Buffalo Township. Police did not identify the man who was driving the vehicle.A search of the suspect from Bradford turned up a hypodermic needle and metal spoon with what police believe was drug residue. Charges are pending completion of the investigation.

State Police, Mercer5:40 a.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Lance A. Craig, 52, of Mercer struck a deer on Route 258 in Liberty Township, Mercer County. Craig was not hurt, but his vehicle had to be towed.
