Lorraine B. (Weidenhof) Keown

Lorraine B. (Weidenhof) Keown, 88, of Butler passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born April 6, 1928, in Hays, Pa., to the late Frederick Weidenhof and Theressa (Benjam) Weidenhof. Lorraine was the last of her 14 siblings to pass.

Mrs. Keown was a member of the Butler Church of the Nazarene. She was a fantastic cook and avid gardener. Lorraine helped anyone she could and touched the hearts of many, with kindness in her heart and a smile on her face. She said that made her happy.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Salopek of Butler and Kandice Ihlenfeld of Butler; one son, Thomas Keown Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Butler; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Keown Sr., who she married April 2, 1948, and who died Nov. 14, 2009; eight sisters, and six brothers.

KEOWN — Friends of Lorraine B. (Weidenhof) Keown, who died Sunday, May 29, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Chamberlain, pastor of Butler Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
