Police reportedly find heroin, money and guns in city home

Investigators reportedly found a large amount of drugs in a city home this afternoon while serving a search warrant for an unrelated burglary in Muddy Creek Township.

Initially, state police went to an apartment in the 1000-block of East Jefferson Street to search for evidence related to a $4,800 boat motor stolen from Crescent Bay Marina in Moraine State Park.

When they arrived they saw a 40-year-old New York man inside the home and believed he might jump from a third floor window. He did not jump, and he was taken into custody. While in the home, the investigators saw drugs and got a second warrant. With the new warrant in hand, they confiscated 400 bags of suspected heroin, a couple ounces of suspected crack cocaine, a large amount of currency and two hand guns.

The New York man is not being identified in this report because he is not charged. However, court records say in 2006 he was convicted of three separate felony drug cases in Franklin County.

No further information is immediately available.
