Margaret “Peggy” Seigfreid Nazaruk

Margaret “Peggy” Seigfreid Nazaruk, 87, of Saxonburg, formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 19 at Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.

She was born June 13, 1928, in Butler to George Thomas Seigfreid and Alma Ruth Neyman. She attended Butler High School.

Peggy married Mike Nazaruk July 28, 1948, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Meridian. They celebrated 63 years together before his death Jan. 10, 2012.

Peggy worked as a crossing guard for many years in Butler, most memorably at Center Avenue Elementary School and Butler Middle School.

She attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Butler.

Peggy was an avid crocheter and former member of Sunnyview Home Auxiliary. Peggy was a devoted and beloved grandma.

Survivors include her sons, James “Jim” Nazaruk of Butler and George (Carol) Nazaruk of Butler; her granddaughter, Kristyn (Amanda) Canfield of Richmond, Va.; her grandson, David Nazaruk and his fiance, Trisha Riggans, of Pittsburgh; her granddaughters, Bransyn and Landyn Canfield of Richmond, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Dorothy Scarnato.

NAZARUK — There will be no visitation for Margaret “Peggy” Seigfreid Nazaruk, who died Thursday, May 19, 2016.Services will be private at the family's convenience.Arrangements are by Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home, Blawnox, Pa.Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Garden Cemetery, Cheswick, Pa.In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Butler.
