Butler Police3:33 a.m. Monday — Jessicka Ann West, 28, of Butler was arrested after she allegedly gave a bogus name to police during a suspicious activity investigation at a gas station on South Main StreetAnother officer, however, showed up and recognized West. The officer also knew she was wanted on a warrant. It turned out, court documents said, that there were two warrants out for her arrest.She was arraigned on a charge of false identification to law enforcement authorities and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail. She’s also being held on the warrants.3:32 a.m. Monday — A traffic stop at the tier parking garage on West Cunningham Street landed a man and woman in trouble with the law after police caught them with suspected drugs.David M. Lesney, 29, of Franklin Township and Lauren E. Dunmire, 19, of Butler face misdemeanor drug charges in the case.Police came upon the pair after they stopped the car that Lesney was driving the wrong way out of the garage, according to court documents.While speaking to Dunmire, a passenger in the car, an officer spotted an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin on the floor of her seat and a marijuana pipe in her door. Lesney told police the items were his, documents said. He also admitted that he had marijuana under the passenger seat. Police looked under the seat and found a Mason jar containing what appeared to be the drug.A search of Dunmire’s purse turned up two stamp bags and “numerous” empty bags of suspected heroin.Lesney is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.Dunmire is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct.10:43 p.m. Saturday — Jory D. Loughman, 18, of Lyndora and Jenna R. Zach, 19, of Summit Township were both found with suspected drug contraband following a traffic stop on South Monroe Street.The suspects were passengers in the car that was stopped for making an illegal turn. Police said when they got to the vehicle, they smelled marijuana.All three occupants, however, denied having the drug with them. But when police advised them that officers were going to get the department’s K-9 officer to check around the vehicle, according to court documents, Zach admitted that she had a bit of the illegal drug.She turned over to police a cellophane wrapper containing suspected marijuana, along with a marijuana pipe. Loughman also acknowledged that he had a marijuana grinder.Both suspects are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Zach also is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Butler Twp PoliceMay 2 — Police charged Cora Lee Phillips with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop about 1:40 a.m. April 17 on Whitestown Road.Phillips is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving without a license, driving with an open container of alcohol, driving over a highway divider, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving, making an illegal turn and littering on a highway.

Butler County SheriffMonday — James D. Reich Sr., 54, of Jefferson Township was charged with providing false information on a background check form last week while attempting to obtain a permit to carry a handgun.Reich on Friday allegedly provided answers about his criminal record on the concealed carry application that were not truthful and were rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System that is run by the state police.He is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.
