The Mars girls lacrosse team broke a 7-7 tie late with a pair of goals for a 9-7 win over Bethel Park Tuesday in the WPIAL Division II girls lacrosse semifinals.

The win sends the Planets to the Division II championship game against Blackhawk at 6 p.m. Thursday at Highmark Stadium.

Lilli Marcoux, Paige Seles and Emily Grieco each scored two goals for Mars.

Shannon Doyle, Eden Fletcher and Kelly O’Connell also scored for the Planets, who split with Blackhawk this season.

Boys Volleyball

Seneca Valley dropped a 26-24, 18-25, 16-25, 19-25 decision to Penn-Trafford in the WPIAL Class AAA semifinals at Baldwin.

Baseball

The A-C Valley baseball team fell 16-6 in six innings to Port Allegany in the first round of the District 9 Class A playoffs.
