Two vehicles collide in Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP - Emergency crews responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 173 and Duffy Road.

According to witnesses, both vehicles had been traveling south on 173 when the Chevy Cruze slowed or stopped to turn left onto Duffy Road. The GMC Yukon, behind the Cruze, struck it.

The Cruze overturned onto its roof, while the Yukon came to a stop in the middle of the road.

According to Slippery Rock fire chief Ken Taggart, both vehicles were driven by woman, who were driving alone. Taggart did not know their identities.

The driver of the Cruze was already out of her vehicle by the time the fire fighters and state police arrived.

Taggart said the driver of the Yukon suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.

According to Taggart, the Yukon sustained minor damage on its front end, while the Cruze sustained moderate damage. Both were towed from the scene.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for about an hour after the accident.
