Kristie Radvan struck out five batters in a complete game as Freeport's softball team downed McGuffey 8-4 in a WPIAL Class AA first-round playoff game Wednesday night in Latrobe.

It was the Yellowjackets' first postseason victory since 2012.

Alyssa Obringer had a two-run single for Freeport (13-4), which will face the winner of today's game between South Park and South Side Monday in the quarterfinals.

Karns City 12, Keystone 2 — Ashley Coon continued her torrid pace with two more hits, including a home run, as the Gremlins (9-6) closed the regular season with a victory in six innings.

Coon has managed eight hits in the last three games.
