Butler PoliceMonday — Ryan Z. Wilson, 25, who is homeless, was arraigned on a charge of receiving stolen property after being found with a man’s stolen wallet over the weekend.The pilfered wallet turned up about 9 a.m. Saturday after police arrested Wilson on two warrants. Officers searched Wilson, who was carrying a wallet that contained the owner’s driver’s license and other identification.Police later called the owner, who told them he had been unable to find his wallet since May 10. He also told police he did not know Wilson.But when the victim appeared at the police station to claim the wallet, he told officers that his mother had given Wilson a ride from Harrisville May 10. The owner’s wallet, at the time, was in his mother’s car, documents said.Thursday — Isaac G. Anderson Jr., 57, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop about 1 a.m. May 8 on North Chestnut Street near Locust Street.Police said when they spoke to Anderson, they smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath. He was arrested after failing a field sobriety test. He later refused to submit to a police breath test.He is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and not using turn signals.

Butler Twp PoliceMonday — Police charged Nathan J. Marshall, 33, and Tasha Nagle, 21, both of Butler, with stealing a purse May 1 from the Big Lots store at Alameda Plaza. Both suspects are charged with theft and receiving stolen property.2 p.m. Sunday — A large bag of sports equipment was found in the area of Sunnyview. The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-285-9600.2:10 a.m. Sunday — Kristin Young, 21, of Butler allegedly stole a bag of items, worth about $720, from the bar area of Family Bowlaway on Fairground Hill Road. She is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.2:28 a.m. Saturday — Janel D. Hein, 35, of Lyndora was arrested on a bench warrant following a traffic stop on Hansen Avenue. She was placed in Butler County Prison on the warrant.Hein also was cited for driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving without a license, false identification to law enforcement authorities, disobeying traffic control signals, disregarding traffic lanes and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cranberry Twp. Police2:58 p.m. March 20 — A man and a woman were caught by store security at Walmart on Route 19 for trying to steal diapers.Kristy A. Faren, 35, of Butler and Jerald Lorenz, 34, of Butler allegedly attempted to leave the store with 17 boxes of diapers, worth $554.Faren was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor criminal conspiracy and retail theft, and Lorenz was charged with retail theft.12:11 p.m. April 1 — Footage from security cameras was used to identify a man who allegedly stole from Costco on Cranberry Square Drive.Robert J. Gongloff, 50, of Evans City and a woman, who police did not name in court records, allegedly left the store with $456 in razor blades concealed in a duffel bag.Police used surveillance footage to learn the couple left in a vehicle registered to Gongloff’s parents.He was charged Friday with misdemeanor retail theft, conspiracy and receiving stolen property.

Grove City Police12:08 a.m. Thursday — No one was injured after police were called for an armed individual threatening suicide on the 400 block of West Main Street. The Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team was called to assist and entered the home.The suspect, who police did not identify, was arrested at 3:17 a.m. hours. Police noted no shots fired during the incident. The suspect was taken to Sharon Regional Hospital for a mental health evaluation.8:455 a.m. Wednesday — Unspecified items were stolen in a burglary at the Salvation Army on West Main Street. The store also had damage in the break-in between 8:45 p.m. May 10 and 8 a.m. Wednesday.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.11 p.m. May 10 — An unknown hit-and-run driver struck did not stop after a two-vehicle crash on West Poplar Street near Elm Street. The wreck happened when the unidentified dark-colored vehicle pulled from an alleyway and hit a Jeep driven by a Grove City girl. Police did not identify the girl.Anyone with information is asked to police.

State Police, ButlerThursday — George V. Deakings, 60, of Butler was charged with drunken driving in connection with a Christmas Eve stop in Butler.Police said Deakings was the target of a be-on-the-lookout advisory when they pulled him over about 10:10 p.m. Dec. 24 on South Main Street. He was wanted from a domestic dispute earlier that day.Deakings, who reeked of alcohol, admitted he had been in the earlier domestic altercation. He was arrested and searched. Police said they found him with a crack pipe.A breath test administered at the city police station showed Deakings’ blood-alcohol level was .106 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to driving under the influence, he is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, failing to carry his driver’s license, careless driving and two seat belt violations.
