Rockets, KC net impressive track victories

DeMatteis flips 4th no-hitter

Gunner Coleman posted a time of 41.64 seconds in winning the 300-meter hurdles to help the Slippery Rock boys track and field team defeat Hickory 85-65 Tuesday afternoon.

Coleman also ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team.

The team win improved the Rockets to 4-2.

The Rocket girls (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season as the Hornets claimed a 95-55 victory.

Karns City 105, North Clarion 44 (boys); Karns City 93, North Clarion 57 (girls) — Chandler Turner won the triple jump and contributed to relay wins in the 4x100 and 4x400 for KC's boys.

The Gremlins won their sixth consecutive KSAC title and 14th in 16 years. During that 16-year span, KC's boys have lost only two meets.

The Gremlin girls received a 400 win from Sunday Marotto, who was also on the winning 4x400 relay team.

Kennedy DeMatteis pitched her fourth no-hitter of the season, this one coming in four innings as Moniteau trounced visiting Keystone 15-0.

DeMatteis struck out 10 in the victory.

Megan Hepler led the Warriors' 16-hit attack with a single, double, home run, two runs scored and four RBI.
