North Washington Rodeo Queen Contest set Saturday

NORTH WASHINGTON — The 2016 North Washington Rodeo Queen Contest will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Northington Rodeo Grounds, 2225 Oneida Valley Road.

This event will be held in conjunction with North Washington’s Community Day.

During the event, six contestants will compete to be the next North Washington Rodeo Queen. The contest will feature a horsemanship portion, which requires each contestant to perform a specific pattern on horseback in the rodeo arena.

The contest will continue in the social hall with a question-and-answer session where the contestants will be asked on-the-spot questions to give the audience and judges a better idea of who the contestants are as people.

Upon completion of the Q&A portion, the new 2016 North Washington Rodeo Queen will be crowned and presented with her belt buckle, sash, flowers and crown.
