Suspect appears in court

He allegedly tried to contact victim

EVANS CITY — Police say an Adams Township man arrested in March for having an inappropriate relationship with a girl from Canada attempted to contact her again.

James E. Fugh, 39, Tuesday appeared in district court where he waived to court 80 felony charges including possession of child pornography, sexual abuse of children and photographing, videotaping, depicting on computer or filming sexual acts.

Fugh is free on a $100,000 bond, but he violated the terms of the bond that had barred him from using the Internet, District Judge Wayne Seibel said.

He allegedly sent an e-mail to the victim, a 16-year-old girl who lives in Canada, sometime after his arrest. Seibel said if he were to contact the victim again, he could be charged with retaliation or witness intimidation.

Since Fugh’s behavior may be related to alcohol abuse, Seibel ordered him to undergo pretrial supervision, including a mental health evaluation, a drug and alcohol evaluation and wearing an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet.

Fugh is accused of chatting and exchanging pictures with the girl from May 2014 to July 2015 when she was 15. Police also allegedly found hundreds of sexually explicit videos on his computer showing underage girls.
