Container garden session plannedFREEPORT — The Freeport Library, 428 Market St., will host a container gardening workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.Participants should take a pot, basket, planter or other container that has drainage holes, decorations to personalize it and plants. Christian Mothers organizing teaCABOT — The Christian Mothers of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church will host an afternoon tea from 2 to 4 p.m. May 14 at the church hall, 315 Stoney Hollow Road.“Holidays Throughout the Year” will be the theme, and each table will be decorated for a specific holiday. As a traditional afternoon tea, tea sandwiches and a variety of teas, cakes, cookies, truffles and scones will be served. Walk to highlight drug addictionHope for Broken Hearts family support group will sponsor a drug awareness walk from 10 a.m. to noon May 14 from Westminster Presbyterian Church, 420 N. Library slates book signingAuthor John McElroy will be at the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., from 5 to 6:30 p.m. MondayHe will be available to sign copies of his book, “America’s Culture: Its Origins and Enemies. A Synopsis.”The author is a professor emeritus of the University of Arizona who also taught at Clemson, Wisonsin-Madison and, as a Fullbright Professor of American Studies, at universities in Brazil and Spain.
