Three days before the primary, an electoral flyer for Legislative District 12 in Adams Township appeared in my mailbox.

It read, “And on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said ‘I need a caretaker.’ So God made a farmer,” blah blah blah onward with religious sayings. Then Mrs. Marburger went on to blather on the reverse side about how wonderful the hubby Gordon is.

It was painful to read and insulted my sense of intelligence.

If Gordon Marburger wants the position, just put his qualifications. As Sgt. Friday on TV used to say, “just the facts ma’am.”

Also, getting Butler County stuff off my mind, the display of self-righteous indignation we have to watch because Mr. Pinkerton’s feelings were hurt is really wearing thin. Could Pinkerton have discounted fees for counsel from possibly a friend? Why are we with intelligence having to listen to Pinkerton’s wah-wah’s about being insulted while in public office? Public office insults are par for the course. Get over it.

Let’s all be mature, strong men who don’t need to use either God or hurt feelings so we don’t have to read this crap either polluting our mailbox or our evening paper.
