It was so refreshing to see the positive article about the rescued pit bull (“Buffalo Twp. family gives rescued pit bull new home,” April 24) on the front page.

So often all we hear about are negative stories in regards to this breed.

If people would allow themselves to be educated about the breed, they would find they are wonderful animals. If given the chance, attention and love required to bring an animal into your home, a pit bull can steal your heart.

The blame is always put on the dog, but what about the person who abandoned this poor puppy in the first place on a winter day in February? They should be punished for their behavior, not the dog that had to suffer unbearable conditions.

I don’t have a pit bull as a member of my family. We have three Labs. But I would not hesitate to adopt one.
