Duo accused of selling stolen aluminum

CONNOQUENESSING TWP — Two men are accused of selling thousands of pounds of stolen aluminum cast molds.

According to court records, someone stole 800 aluminum cast molds weighing about 7,000 pounds from Dectile on Kreiss Road between April 11 and 18.

Dectile is listed on the Internet as a roofing company.

Court records indicate the casts cost about $27 each, so the loss to the company was about $21,600.

Court records say the molds were stolen from a site outside the business’ garage, which was posted with a no trespassing sign.

During that same time period, court records say the two suspects — Ronald M. Brain and Jason T. Myers — made four trips to a recycling company, PSC Metals in Slippery Rock. There, they allegedly traded a total of 3,367 pounds of aluminum cast molds for $1,346.

Brain, 30, lives at 623 Mercer St. Ext. in Harrisville. Myers, 35, lives at 2258 Mercer Road in Stoneboro.

Both men face a felony charge of receiving stolen property. Preliminary hearings have not been scheduled.

According to a written statement, state police still are investigating the case.
