Larry Fisher

Larry Fisher, 84, of Mars passed away Monday in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Born Sept. 7, 1931, in Rigby, Jefferson County, Idaho, he was the son of the late Charles Hyles Fisher and Esther Lue Carpenter.

Larry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he was involved in the missionary outreach program.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was an avid fisherman and was known as a jack-of-all trades. He could fix anything. Larry was liked by everyone who knew him, and above all, he was a devoted husband and loving father. He also dearly loved his grand-dog, Nikki.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Viola (Solovay) Fisher, whom he married July 14, 1954; his daughter, Judith D. Giacomino of Mars; two sisters, Agnes Galbraith of Portland, Ore., and Esther Lue (Dale) Armstrong of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by six siblings, Nathan, Donald, Fern, Delsa, Ruby and Virginia.

<hardreturn>FISHER — Friends of Larry Fisher, who died Monday, April 25, 2016, will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, 2771 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.<br />He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.<br />The Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, Cranberry Township, is handling the arrangements.<br class="hardreturn" />
