Council on Tuesday said it would take up these items at its meeting Thursday:

Grant permanent employment status as of April 4 to patrol officer Myles Bizub.

Approve the resignation of patrol officer Douglas Mazzanti after seven years of service effective May 15.

Consider a proposal to have electronic recycling on Saturdays in the parking lot adjacent to the city building.

Environmental Coordination Services & Recycling would have appointments for people to recycle their electronics at a cost of 45 cents per pound starting July 30 and running every Saturday through August.

The city would seek sponsors so that cost could be offset.

The supervisors on Monday:

Approved action to vacate a portion of Meredith Drive that was originally meant to be a cul-de-sac. The former cul-de-sac will now become a part of the adjacent lot.

Approved raises for all nonunion public works employees. The raise will be retroactive to Jan. 1.

Approved a job description for the public works director. The board also approved public works manager John Hock for the job at his current salary and benefits.

Announced that groundbreaking ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday for the new Adams Area Fire District station to be built at the former Mars National Bank drive-through on Route 228.
