Urbaniak sets mark for SRHS

Slippery Rock High School's Fred Urbaniak set a school record in the 110-meter hurdles Saturday at the Hermitage Track and Field Invitational.

His time of 14.9 seconds earned him first place in the event.

Also placing first for the Rockets was Brady Dalton, who won the 100 hurdles in the girls' meet at 16.16.

Following are the Slippery Rock athletes who earned a medal by finishing in the top eight.

Boys

110 hurdles: 1-Fred Urbaniak 14.9; 300 hurdles: 4-Gunner Coleman 42.41, 5-Fred Urbaniak 43.24; 1,600 relay: 8-Slippery Rock (Fred Urbaniak, Gunner Coleman, Rod Williams, Ryan Putorti) 3:48

Long jump: 8-Hunter Prementine 18-8; Triple jump: 6-Hunter Prementine 39-0.5, 8-Chase Allen 38-9

Girls

3,200 relay: 8-Slippery Rock (Emily Kesten, Haley Cararini, Barbie Cessar, Brooke Schaefers) 11:02.27; 100 hurdles: 1-Brady Dalton 16.16, 4-Claudia Allen 16.5, 8-Macy McCall 17.31; 300 hurdles: 2-Brady Dalton 48.61, 5-Claudia Allen 51.32, 7-Macy McCall 52.86

Triple jump: 3-Kayla Latozza 31-3; Pole vault: 4-Sarah Gold 8-6

Moniteau's Maura Kimmel won the shot put and discus at the Brookville Invitational, earning her Girls Field MVP honors.

Her winning effort in the shot put was 42 feet, three and a half inches while her discus throw of 139-3 is a new meet record.

The Warriors' Gabby Stewart won the 200 dash with a time of 26.49.

Following are the Moniteau athletes who earned medals by placing in the top eight.

Girls

100 hurdles: 3-Samantha Hall 16.79; 400 run: 2-Gabby Stewart 1:03.11; 200 dash: 1-Gabby Stewart 26.49
