Walter A. Mroziak

Walter A. Mroziak, 75, formerly of Cranberry Township, died Wednesday afternoon at Vincentian in North Hills.

Born June 24, 1940, in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Walter and Phyliss DiGuilio Mroziak.

He was a 1958 graduate of Rankin High School. He attended Waynesburg College, where he played football and graduated with a degree in mathematics.

Walter had been the vice president of sales and marketing for Baker Refractories for over 25 years.

An avid golfer, Walter was a member of the Diamond Run Golf Club in Sewickley. He also was a member of St. Kilian Church.

Surviving are his wife of over 50 years, Patricia M. Fantaski Mroziak, who he married Oct. 30, 1965; his son, John Mroziak (Julie) of York, Pa.; four daughters, Jennifer Ricard (Frank) of Hudson, Ohio, Julie Santiago (Joseph) of Bradenton, Fla., Janine Dillon (John) of Allison Park and Justine Masse (Sam) of Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 grandchildren, Emily, Madeline, Jacob, Samuel, Jillian, Caroline, Sophia, Gabriella, Jenna, Thomas, Jack, Evelyn, Ella and Margot; two brothers, Michael Mroziak (Mae) and Nicholas Mroziak (Jacqueline); two sisters-in-law, Ginger Mroziak and Johnette Belechak (John); two brothers-in-law, Dennis Fantaski (Nancy) and Daniel Fantaski (Carol); countless nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Carmen Mroziak.

MROZIAK — Friends of Walter A. Mroziak, who died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Monday at St. Kilian Church, corner of Clark and Cherry streets, Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Please meet at the church.Since he was a recipient of a heart transplant, the family would like memorials to be made to the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE), 204 Sigma Dr., Pittsburgh.
