Butler volleyball improves to 6-1

Butler overcame a two-games-to-one deficit, winning the last two games to upend host Shaler 3-2 in boys volleyball action Tuesday night.

The Golden Tornado won by scores of 25-20, 18-25, 23-25, 25-21 and 15-8.

Ryan Bargo tallied 17 kills for Butler (6-1, 3-1) while Matt Wetzel contributed 34 assists and Ben Fiorina six passes.

Track and Field

Nick Shea won the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs as Slippery Rock’s boys coasted to a 95-59 victory over Sharon.

The Rocket girls defeated the Tigers, 110-36, with Emma McDermott capturing the long jump and triple jump.

Indiana scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in beating previously undefeated Knoch, 4-3.

Avery Keller doubled and drove in two runs for the Knights (7-1, 2-1) and Abigail Black singled twice and had one RBI.
