Phone, mail scams revealedJEFFERSON TWP — Concordia at Cabot will host a seminar on mail and phone fraud from 2 to 3 p.m. March 2 in the Haven I dining room, 112 Marwood Road.Pittsburgh Postal Inspector Ian Ortega will lead the seminar. He will show how to recognize different forms of mail and phone scams and what to do if you think you’ve been scammed.For more information about the seminar, call Haven event coordinator Chantelle Sweeney at 724-352-1571, Ext. 8251.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake scheduledBig Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County will host its 22nd annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake March 6 at Family Bowlaway, 540 Fairground Hill Road.Businesses, organizations and individuals can register a six-member team online at www.firstgiving.com/BBBSButler or by calling Big Brothers Big Sisters at 724-287-4733.Each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $75.Notices of local upcoming news should be received by the Community Department one week in advance of the event.
